Built: 1904 (original), expanded 1909, 1914, 1920, 1922, 1923; additions 1946

Two-story U-shaped brick industrial building with two interior light courts. Peak employment over 300 workers. Henry was apprenticed here ~1912 onward, remained on payroll during illness 1935-onward, retired as night watchman 1949.

The Buescher Band Instrument Company Building at 225 East Jackson Boulevard, Elkhart, was added to the National Register of Historic Places (reference number 86002714). Listing recognized the building's significance to the band instrument industry in Elkhart, which was known as the 'Band Instrument Capital of the World.' Henry Lorenz had worked there from ~1912 to 1949.
1993 · construction
Demolition permit #93-00519 issued by City of Elkhart same-day to contractor ClarkCO Inc (Gordon Clark), on behalf of owner Hayes D. Warning of 941 Oak Street, Elkhart. The Buescher Band Instrument Company Building was demolished entirely in March 1993. The site became a vacant lot. The Indiana DNR Director Daniel J. Fogerty formally notified the National Park Service of the demolition on April 25, 1995. The Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana (Adrian Scott Fine) confirmed the demolition in writing on April 19, 1996.
