First child of Edward Frederick Lorenz and Edith Grace Johnston Lorenz, born September 29, 1918 in Elkhart County, Indiana. Married Dorothy Mae Eason of Atlanta, Georgia. Their only child, William 'Billy' Edward Lorenz, was born June 8, 1949. Retired to Sun City, Arizona with Dorothy in later life. Died January 19, 1994 at Sun City West at age 75. Dorothy died 39 days later; they are buried together in the same niche at Sunland Memorial Park.

Orval and Dorothy retired together to Sun City, Arizona. Orval died at Sun City West on January 19, 1994 at age 75. Dorothy died thirty-nine days later, on February 27, 1994, at age 81. They were buried together in the same niche at Sunland Memorial Park — Garden of Peace Mausoleum, Haven of Memory GF Niche 124.
